Hidden Valley Wine Estate in the Stellenbosch Hills of South Africa has a rich history, and combined with its commitment to “working with nature” is a proud WWF Conservation Champion. Alan Rudnicki took some awesome photos of the modern estate, situated on the northern slopes of the Helderberg Mountains, and home to one of the country’s best restaurants.
A visit to the state-of-the-art vineyard includes wine tasting, restaurants and a sculpture studio, featuring works by the renowned and talented Willie Botha.
One of the wine estate’s two restaurants – Overture – was featured this weekend in the Top 20 Restaurants in South Africa, at number 12, moving up six places from 18th last year.
Hidden Valley is one of 40 World WildLife Conservation Champions, acknowledged as an “environmental leader in the industry for our commitment to conservation, responsible production practices, integrated environmental management systems and spearheading innovations in water, energy efficiency and climate adaptation”, according to their website.
