Anyone who visits the vast Noordhoek Beach on the way to Cape Point south of Cape Town would have seen the surfers, the horse riders, the dog walkers, as well as a wire whale at the entrance, with a sign on top of it, “Feed Kakapo!”

What that means is, Take your bag and fill it up with trash. The beach measures 8 kilometres, so that is a lot of terrain to cover. But whenever you walk there, you will see numerous locals and visitors with plastic bags and pails in hand collecting trash that washes ashore. On the way out, the dump it in the wire whale.

The end result is a beach you really want to visit!
