After nine years, Hilton Hotels closed the doors on the Cape Town Hotel on the weekend, but the owner says it plans to revamp the property for future guests while it searches for new management.

The owner, Millat, confirmed that the property at 126 Buitengracht Street, Bo-Kaap, would no longer be managed by Hilton Worldwide.
“It is disappointing that our relationship with Hilton has come to an end, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when South Africa’s primary tourist destinations and its people most need support.,” the company said, adding that it would take control of the property.
“Millat intends using this time as an opportunity to revitalise the hotel’s offering, including redesigning rooms, in order to again deliver top-quality experiences for its guests in the future.”
Hilton still manages two hotels in South Africa, in Durban and Sandton.
