Lion’s Head, one of the most popular must-do things for travellers to Cape Town, reopened to hikers today after it was closed down in June after people did not comply with social distancing regulations.

The Table Mountain Cableway also reopened fully this week.

SANParks said today that rangers would be positioned on the trail to make sure that people were following COVID regulations, and that numbers could be limited at the sergeant ranger’s discretion. Masks have to be worn at all times and hand sanitiser used before climbing the ladders. Picnics are still not permitted.

Most other sections of Table Mountain National Park have been opened to hikers since lockdown regulations were eased.
