A new drive-in venue will start showing movies from Friday, 23 October, and will begin with, appropriately after half a year of lockdown, “Back to the Future.”
“The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived and GoDriveIn Cinema is officially open for our first screening on Friday the 23rd of October at 346B Victoria Road, Salt River, Cape Town.” At the moment, the venue has food trucks by day.
Drive-ins, as the organisers note, are the perfect way to watch movies and maintain social distancing. Numerous countries have seen a resurgence in drive-ins during the pandemic.
It costs R240 per vehicle of two people, and R60 for every extra person. The movies for the rest of the weekend will be “Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw” and “Jurassic Park.” The line-up of movies until the end of November can be viewed here.
