With the whole world eager to get out and travel again, Forbes has put South Africa on its list of “The 20 Best Places To Travel In 2021: Where To Go Next.”
“The best of all worlds,” says Kimberley Wilson Wetty, one of its four judges. “Enjoy city life, vineyards and safari all in one trip. Nothing beats a trip to South Africa.”
Africa scored well this year, with other countries on the list including Rwanda, Kenya and Tunisia.
Forbes said it was eagerly awaiting the opening of three hotels, all slated to open soon. The Kruger Shalati The Train on the Bridge, andBeyond’s Ngala Tree House and The Rockefeller Hotel in downtown Cape Town.

Wetty recommended that American readers of the magazine head to the “bustling hub of Cape Town for its dynamic food and design scene, experience historic sites in Johannesburg, try kite surfing on the coastline of the Indian and Atlantic oceans and experience the renowned safari camps of Kruger National Park”.
Wetty also selected Ireland, British Virgin Islands, Mexico on the beach and the islands of Tahiti. Other experts on the panel chose New Zealand, Paris, Qatar, Maldives and more.
